Hi! I'm listening to your CD as I write. Just discovered it for sale at (of all places) Winn Dixie! When I saw your name on the CD I was so excited, because I've seen you perform with my most favorite guy - Michael McDonald. I am a big fan of his and I know his band is absolutely top notch. So, I was sure this CD would be fabulous. Glad to see also Pat Coil, another very talented former McD band member, performing on some of the songs. Lots of great tunes on this CD and I'll enjoy it for many years to come!
Thanks-
Suze

Mark,

Just wanted to say hi and tell I loved the album. I’m sure you don't remember but, I used to play (trumpet, I was a student of Rick Steffen at Austin Peay) with all you guys in the "Bo Thorpe Orchestra" back in 86 thru 88, soon after that, I joined the Navy Music program and have toured all over the US and Asia. I happened to be in Nashville on vacation when I saw your album and could not wait to hear it! Man, you sound great as always!! If you happen to come thru Newport, Rhode Island on tour, pls drop me a line. If not, I will be retiring form the Navy next year and I hope to run into you and all the guys back in Nashville. Take care..................bo

I graduated HS with Pat Coil, caught the show in Jefferson City, MO September 16. Enjoyed it all--blown away by your incredible talent. I've seen you name for years on so many CDs I have (I'm one of those guys who actaully studies liner notes). I will be buying "Groove" and the Christmas CD. I had a sit down with Dan Posthuma back in July, and he mentioned your name--nothing but good things to say. Love your work man!

August 29, 2006

Mark,
It's been a while. I hope things are going well fo you. I have a question for you. How would I get a hold of someone from Larry Carltons office or Road manager, ect.. to try and get a couple of names on the guest list when Larry plays in Osaka Japan coming up this Friday? If you think there might be a way to contact someone regarding this, I would really appricate it. One of my best friends and fellow trombonists is living in Japan and wants to see the show.
If you think it wold be too much to ask , no problem!
I look forward to hearing from you.
All the best,
John Allred

Greetings in July 2006..A hot humid day in San Berdoo, California Mark! Have enjoyed your talent on Reeds for so many Christian Artists. Congrats on time with Larry. Four Play has fab live concerts and Larry says so much with just a note here and Not a Note There. The Great Musician 's timing is not our timing either yet each Solo is perfect!
Thanks for your encouraging sound.

January 5, 2006

As a fellow sax player, I have been a big fan of your playing for almost 20 years now, carefully watching album credits for your name to appear. At this point, I can usually pick out your playing without seeing the liner notes, which in my humble opinion says it all - you have developed your own truly amazing sound. Although there are many great sax players out there, there are few whose playing really grabs me on an emotional level - you've got it all, a fantastic sound, amazing technique and...most importantly...emotion and soul ooozing from every note. Thanks for the inspiration!

I've been waiting for years for this record...thanks for finally "getting around to it" - can't wait for the next one! (Please don't keep us all waiting another 20 years!)

Thanks for the website too - just found it today. Now I know where to check for next project.

Cheers!

Bout time you got yourself a website. Great design.

I appreciate the inspiration you have given me to persue a music career in Nashville.

I have enjoyed getting to know some of the other working saxophonists around Nashville, they are a good group of folks and have be very welcoming and gracious to a newcomer like myself -- several of them have posted.

I saw Doug Moffet and Sam Levine -- they are two of the nicest guys in the industry to meet -- expecially considering thier accomplishments.

Anyway, keep playin -- I am riding on every note.

Hope I get a chance to meet you sometime around town.
